Accreditation
Academic Accreditation
The «BSc in Nautical Science» program offered by CyMA in collaboration with Intercollege, is evaluated and accredited by the Cyprus Agency of quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education (CYQAA), which is registered with the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR). This confirms the status and standard of Intercollege’ s degree within the country and abroad, and is indicative of the quality and standards maintained by Intercollege and CyMA.
Professional Accreditation
The Cyprus Maritime Academy and Intercollege are approved in accordance with the provisions of Regulation I/6, Section A-I/6 of the STCW 78 as amended and Part IX of Cyprus Law 27(I)/2008, to conduct the following training programs:
- Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch (Section A-II/1)
- Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch (Section A-III/1)
- Electro-technical Officer (Section A-III/6)
- Basic Training for Oil & Chemical (R.V/1-1.2, Sec. A-V/1.1, P.1)
- Training in Security Awareness (R VI/6, Sec. A-VI/6 p.4)
- Training for Seafarers with Designated Security Duties (R.VI/6, Sec. A-VI/6.6)
- Ship Security Officer (R. VI/5, Sec. A-VI/5)
The Cyprus Maritime Academy is a member of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber (CSC), the Cyprus Foundation of the Sea (CyFOS) and the Cyprus Marine Club (CMC).
ISO and IQNet Certification
In context of the continuous upgrading and improvement of the quality of studies, CyMA in collaboration with Intercollege have certified the offered programs of study by the Cyprus Certification Company with the quality management system CY EN ISO 9001:2015 as well as by the International Certification Network – IQNet.
