Managing Director, Thomas Schulte Ship Management (Cyprus) Ltd.
Christos Tofas was born on 7th October 1973 in Nicosia / Cyprus, married, father of two children. He received his bachelor’s degree at Reading University in the UK in 1996 and from 1996 until 2000 was working at a London based company. In 2001 he completed his MSc in Shipping, Trade and Finance at CASS Business School, London, UK and in 2009 he became a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers. On completion of his MSc Degree, joined Hanseatic Shipping Co. Ltd. as Executive Assistant working under the direction of the Deputy Managing Director. In 2008 Hanseatic was renamed to Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement and in 2010 he was promoted to Deputy Managing Director of the Cyprus Office. As Deputy Managing Director, he supported the senior management towards aligning and achieving the Company’s strategic targets and objectives, responsible in the monitoring, controlling and day‐to‐day operation of the Company and in direct communication and discussions with existing and prospective Clients.
Through the years he was directly involved and responsible in maritime operations for the fleet under Full Management (Technical/Crewing/QHSES/Commercial), management proposals, negotiation and conclusion of management agreements, budget administration, financial controlling, ship sale & purchase, registration / deletion of vessels and responsibility of the Company’s Marine & Non‐Marine insurance affairs. Concurrently, he was actively participating in the Bernhard Schulte Owned fleet insurance affairs as the insurance expert for the Group. He attended meetings and liaised with Client/Owners on the performance of their vessels as well as marketing/promoting BSM services to prospective Clients. Effective 1st July 2015, he took the position of the Managing Director at Thomas Schulte Ship Management (Cyprus) Ltd.
